tony created ai since he was 16. dum-e, U, Jarvis, Friday, Karen and others like Jocasta and Takeshi (we saw a brief glimpse of them when Tony installed Friday after Jarvis was gone in AoU). None of them were violent, rude, dangerous or had any murderous tendencies whatsoever.

but the moment wanda and the mind stone get thrown into the mix we get ultron. huh.

It’s almost as if there were multiple reasons and factors to blame for the creation of Ultron and Tony Stark was merely the mouthpiece of it as opposed to the sole responsibility of it. Who would have thought.

“Tony Stark has never positively impacted anyone.”

Really?

Tell that to eight year old me who watched all the marvel movies in preparation for Avengers: Assemble, and stared at Tony Stark moving mountains and creating this amazing piece of technology with nothing but pure determination and his intelligence.

Tell that to nine year old me, running out of the movie hall after watching Avengers: Assemble, tightly gripping my mother’s hand and babbling about how cool iron man was and did you see how much intelligence he had?

Tell that to me just before my tenth birthday, when we watched Iron Man 3 and I promptly told my mom that I wanted an Iron Man cake.

Tell that to ten year old me, who when asked by my mother who my favorite superhero was, promptly replied with “Iron Man!”, and when she asked why, I said it was because someday I would be that smart, and I could change the world, just like him.

Tell that to eleven year old me, who shyly signed up for the mathematics and robotics club, staring at awe at all the schematics we had on the walls. My little cubicle had three photos: My parents, MIT and Tony Stark.

Tell that to twelve year old me, a seventh grader, who wrote her first computer program. God, it was shitty, but I was so proud.

Tell that to thirteen year old me, who cried when she found out she was in Honors STEM, and her school would be taking students to visit NASA.

Tell that to 14 year old me, who fell in love with Maths and Physics all over again, and looked over to her wall where she had a post-it, saying, “Sometimes, you gotta run before you can walk.”

Tell that to me right now, 20 days away from my fifteenth birthday, someone who’s in love with Maths and Science because those subjects are MY subjects, but also because I payed special attention to them, because my hero loved them.

Look me in the eye and tell me that Tony Stark has never made a positive impact. I dare you.

What’s hilarious about the “Tony is the True Villian [sic] of the MCU” hot takes is that none of these people crafting these “think-pieces” have actually thought about what they’re saying.

Have they well and truly considered how fucked everyone would be if Tony really wanted to go full big bad? If Tony embraced the god-given powers of his goatee and went supervillain?

If Tony Stark truly was a villain…

  • He wouldn’t have stopped producing weapons. In fact, he’d probably use the arc reactor technology to make even more powerful weapons of mass destruction. These weapons he could then use to line his pockets, becoming even more insanely wealthy – or…?
  • He could’ve enacted the Iron Legion protocol and successfully taken over the world because the other heroes wouldn’t have been around (or were too inexperienced/weak to fight someone as formidable as Iron Man at the time). Like, imagine if Tony had started work on his project to put Iron Man suits “around the world.” We saw just a glimpse of that in Age of Ultron. It was hella scary.
  • And if none of that happened? If Tony just up and decided to turn coat outta the blue? Then he could’ve killed all his “allies” (the Avengers) at any time he wanted, because he knows all their weaknesses, where they live, etc. He makes their tech. If he wanted, he could exploit it and end their lives. Clint’s arrows? Suddenly go boom in his quiver. Nat’s widow bites? Suddenly overcharge, electrocuting her to death. You get the picture.
  • Tony wouldn’t have bothered stopping the Mandarin. Wouldn’t have bothered saving the President of the United States.
  • Could’ve easily killed Cap and the others in Civil War if he’d really wanted them “out of the way” to further his own agenda.
  • Hell, he’d probably do such an efficient job cleaning house, Thanos might even be impressed. Adopting him as a “Child of Thanos.” Do you think evil Tony would care about half the population of Earth getting wiped? No. Not if he was guaranteed safe.

My point? Supervillain Tony would have wiped. the. floor. Tony has the mental acumen, financial capital, and tech to cause massive damage. Even take over the damn world.

It’s lucky for Earth that Tony has such a strong moral compass and decided to be a hero. Because if Tony were a villain? Earth would be beyond screwed.

Honestly, y’all giving this scene way too much credit

While there isn’t (and never will be) enough credit to Tony here

This man has fought for so long, with no super-soldier serum, and lost so much, he really needs more recognition. Fight me.

y’all were hypin up cap holding thanos’ hand for 2 seconds (before getting TKO’d into the dirt) meanwhile tony is out here blocking a full backhand swing from thanos with his bare fuckin hands – with no super soldier serum. he didn’t even have the extra super-powered strength that his suit usually gives him cause it was fucking obliterated at this point. tony stark rly Did That 💅 so y’all hoes better stop sleepin on my mans
